OUR MEGA PRODUCTS

TMT Bars Fe550D

The full form of TMT bar is Thermo-Mechanically Treated bar. They are high-strength reinforced bars having a tough outer core and a soft inner core. The standard length of the Grade Fe 550D is 12 meters. Mega Turbo TMT Fe 550 D rebars come with all grades and tolerances as stipulated by BIS. Its consistent quality and uniform dimensions are possible because of the in-house facility of making MS Billets which through direct rolling technology are made into Mega Turbo TMT Rebars. These super stable and highly durable Re-bars are ideal for applications in heavy load RCC structures like flyovers, dams, bridges and other critical structures where high yield load (design load) is required. Mega Turbo has an in-house testing facility in its state of the art laboratory, and as such all the raw materials and finished products are checked thoroughly before dispatch. Mega Turbo TMT Rebars Fe 550D are available in the following sizes-

8 mm | 10 mm | 12 mm | 16 mm | 20 mm | 25 mm

MS BILLETS

Billets are manufactured through continuous casting technology in which liquid steel flows from furnace to caster through a copper mould. The water in the mould gets cooled and oscillates at a predetermined rate. The oscillation, cooling and pausing is done in such a controlled condition that the liquid steel solidifies into equated crystals.
In Mega Turbo, every batch of billet manufactured is thoroughly checked to analyse the desired properties . TMT Re-bars produced from continuous casting billets show high tensile strength and elongation and there is remarkable consistency of properties.

Structural Steel

We manufacture MS flats, MS rounds and MS Square in our progressive steel manufacturing plant. All these sections are rolled from highest quality M.S Billets manufactured in-house, through continuous casting, thereby giving it the desired properties. All these sections are used in buildings, industrial sheds, and in various other infrastructures. Mega Turbo Structural Steel is available in the following sizes-

MANUFACTURING PROCESS

The Process starts in the Induction Furnace (EIF) for manufacturing billets. Sponge Iron is melted in the EIF mixed with requisite quantities of Pig Iron and Ferro Silicon. This molten material is carried to the continuous casting machine which is then cast to billets of desired lengths. The next process is manufacturing of TMT bars. The billets are directly sent to the re-rolling section. In this, the billets are progressively rolled and reduced to the final size and shape of reinforcing bar. Quenching

Quenching is performed by heating a metal to above its recrystallization temperature, typically somewhere above its melting temperature but below its transition temperature. The metal is held at this temperature for a set time in order for the heat to “soak” the material. Once the metal has been held at the desired temperature, it is quenched in a medium until it returns to room temperature. Quenching also may be performed for an extended period of time so that the coolness is distributed throughout the thickness of the material.

Self-Tempering

In the next stage, the bar undergoes a process known as ‘self-tempering’. The bar leaves the quenching box with the temperature of the core being higher than that of the surface. This allows the heat to flow from the core to the surface, consequently tempering the surface resulting in a structure called tempered martensitic. The heat from the bar's austenitic center flows to the surface and tempers the outer martensitic layer into a structure referred to as ‘tempered martensite’. The core remains austenitic.

Atmospheric Cooling

After the self tempering process the bars get ready for atmospheric cooling. This is the final stage of the manufacturing process. Here the austenitic core is transformed into a ductile ferrite-pearlite structure. It occurs on the Cooling Bed at normal temperature. Thus the final structure consists of a fine combination of a strong outer rim (tempered martensite) and a ductile core (ferrite-pearlite) thereby imparting strength to the bar. This process increases the tensile strength that makes it highly ductile and wieldable.
